History & Ownership

Crown Cutz Academy of Barber and Style was founded in 2015 in historic Johnson City, TN. The Academy was opened with the vision of providing quality barber education within the Appalachian Highlands area.

Since its opening, the school has been successfully educating students and preparing them for successful careers in the beauty industry.

Craig Charles and Kennedy Pascal are the owners and they possess the only controlling interest in Crown Cutz Academy of Barber and Style and are directly responsible for the operational management of the institution’s academic affairs, student services, business, and administrative services.

They are dedicated on providing a positive learning environment and the best education possible.

Mission Statement

To provide a set of courses and instructions to prepare students to meet all the requirements necessary to become a licensed Master Barber, Barber Instructor or Manager while preparing them for a lifetime career in the barber industry. Our program offering is consistent with our Mission Statement.

School Philosophy/Purpose

Crown Cutz Academy of Barber and Style is dedicated to educating quality Barbers and Instructors. Graduates are able to meet both the present and future demands of the beauty industry. Each student admitted to the school receives individual instruction, exposure to technical skills, instruction on researching techniques, and opportunity for supervised public service.
Our program offerings are consistent with our School Philosophy/Purpose.

State Licensing

Crown Cutz Academy of Barber and Style is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance/Board of Barber Examiners. The Academy is not yet accredited with NACCAS but is actively seeking accreditation.

Facilities & Equipment

The school occupies approximately 5,500 square feet of facilities that include a spacious clinic floor with 18 working stations where supervised students are able to work on clients and a classroom for theory that also works as a student breakroom when classes are not in session. These facilities are well equipped with training equipment to aid students in mastering the program they are enrolled in. Students will use Milady textbooks.

The building also houses an office, two restrooms, a dispensary, locker rooms and a storage area. The office is available for private advising as well as administrative activities.
